30. The Church of Saint Michael the Archangel in the village of Barcinek

was mentioned as early as in 1400. It is a gothic structure which was expanded at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries. The baroque altar dates from 1727. It includes numerous knights' gravestones dating from 1574–80.

31. The Church of Saint Anthony of Padua in the village of Kopaniec

Built in the gothic style at the beginning of the 16th century. A medieval sandstone font. A bell dating from 1602.

A wooden church dating from the beginning of the 20th century with a timbered construction. A renaissance stone font dating from 1539.

33. The Church of Saint Barbora in the village of Mala Kamienica

It was mentioned as early as in 1399. An untypical presbytery. Currently ongoing conservation work has uncovered medieval frescos dating from the end of the 15th century.

arch734. The Church of the Beheading of John the Baptist in the village of Nowa Kamienica

A late gothic church mentioned as early as in 1384. Renewed in 1718. There is a historical stone sacristy and baroque alter inside.

35. The Church of Saint Catherine in the village of Rybnica

The building was mentioned in a document dating from 1369. The structure is in the style of the early gothic. There is a gothic stone font, an altar dating from the mid-18th century, oil paintings from the 18th century and also a classicist organ loft and pulpit inside.

36. The Church of the Beheading of John the Baptist in the village of Stara Kamienica

The rectory was erected in 1241. The current church dates from the end of the 15th century. The spire is 41 metres high. The early baroque altar dates from the 2nd half of the 17th century.

It was built in 1760–1763. The main baroque altar includes a painting from the workshop of Michael Willman. The organ dates from 1762. A late baroque pulpit and a rococo font made of sandstone are only some of the elements in the church's rich inventory.

Numerous lookout points

Cycle and hiking trails lead throughout the High Jizera Ridge (Grzbiet Wysoki) and the Kamenice Ridge (Grzbiet Kamienicki) in the Jizera Mountains. There are many enchanting places which provide wonderful views of distances up to 60 km.

38. The J. S. Braun Grave Chapel in the village of Kopaniec

It was built in 1769 for Jan Samuel Braun. A late baroque structure which stands near the church in the village of Kopaniec.

Everybody has their cross to bear ...

Propitiatory crosses are located in the villages of Stara Kamienica and Wojcieszyce. The cross in Stara Kamienica has been placed about halfway up the church spire of the Church of the Beheading of Saint John the Baptist. Two other crosses are located in Wojcieszyce (on the road from Wojcieszyce to Jelení Hora – Cieplic at house no. 5 and at the evangelical cemetery on Road no. 3).

My home is my castle

arch839. The castle ruins in Stará Kamienica

The cradle of the House of Schaffgotsch. The first mention dates from around 1353. The castle has been destroyed and restored many times. The last fire in 1758 caused permanent damage and the castle has been a ruin since then. The two-storey tower, the arched bridge over the moat and the underground areas are awaiting reconstruction.

40. The castle ruins in Rybnica

The Rybnica Castle probably dates from 1234. The castle was abandoned at the beginning of the 19th century. Only one wall has been preserved.

41. Antoniów

It is possible to see a unique complex of Upper Lusatian houses dating from the first half of the 19th century in the upper section of the village of Antoniów (so-called God's Hill – Boża Góra). Most of the houses are protected heritage sites.
